How to Accurately Find Your Ring Size at Home
Getting your ring size wrong is one of the most common frustrations with online jewelry shopping. Resizing a ring costs money and time, and some ring styles (eternity bands, tension-set rings) can't be resized at all. This free tool lets you find your exact ring size at home using only a screen, a piece of paper, and a pen — no jeweler visit needed.
The String / Paper Strip Method (Most Reliable)
- Cut a strip of paper about 6mm wide and 10cm long
- Wrap it snugly around the base of the finger you're sizing (where the ring will sit)
- Mark the point where the paper overlaps with a pen — this is your finger's circumference
- Measure the strip from end to mark using the Full-Screen Ruler
- Match your circumference in mm to the ring size chart above
Tips for Accuracy
- Time of day matters: Fingers are largest in the evening — measure then for the most wearable fit
- Temperature matters: Cold shrinks fingers, warmth expands them. Measure at room temperature
- Knuckle check: The ring must pass over your knuckle. If your knuckle is much larger than your base, size for the knuckle and consider a sizing band insert
- Dominant hand: Your dominant hand is typically 0.5–1 size larger — measure the actual finger you'll wear the ring on
- Wide bands: Wide bands (over 6mm) sit tighter. Go up half a size for bands wider than 6mm
