Frequently Asked Questions

What are Open Graph tags?
Open Graph (OG) tags are HTML meta tags that control how URLs are displayed when shared on social media. They were created by Facebook and are now used by most social platforms including LinkedIn, Discord, and WhatsApp.
What size should my OG image be?
1200×630 pixels at 1.91:1 aspect ratio is the universal sweet spot. This works across all major platforms. Keep file size under 5MB.
Do I need both OG and Twitter Card tags?
Twitter can fall back to OG tags, but for the best result you should include both. Twitter Card tags give you control over the card type (Summary vs Summary Large Image).
Why isn't my image showing on Facebook?
Check that: (1) the image URL is publicly accessible, (2) it's at least 200×200px, (3) you've scraped the URL in Facebook's Sharing Debugger to clear cache. Also ensure the og:image tag has an absolute URL.
How do I test live Open Graph tags?
After deploying, use Facebook's Sharing Debugger, Twitter's Card Validator, and LinkedIn's Post Inspector. Our tool allows you to preview before deploying using manual input.
Can I use OG tags on any website?
Yes. OG tags are standard HTML meta tags. Add them to the <head> section of your page. They work with any technology — WordPress, React, plain HTML, and everything in between.
